The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Plateau State Government signed an MOU to develop, construct and expand infrastructure at the Yakubu Gowon Airport.
In his address, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Governor Caleb Mutfwang, commended the initiative as a laudable and visionary step, one that lays a solid foundation for future growth and development. He emphasized that the project is not only set to enhance the revenue-generating capacity of the airport but also poised to significantly boost the economic prospects of Plateau State.
Governor Mutfwang expressed his gratitude to the MD/CE, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku for FAAN’s enthusiasm for the cargo initiative and pledged to work tirelessly to realize the state’s ambitions.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive of FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, in her response, reaffirmed the organisation’s full support for the Plateau State Government’s vision to position the state as a key hub for agricultural exports and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s economy through air cargo. She described the partnership as a gateway for investors, one that promises infrastructure development, the realization of bold dreams, the creation of meaningful opportunities, and the global projection of Plateau’s vast agricultural potential.
Mrs. Kuku further emphasized that this is more than just an agreement; it is a bold declaration of economic independence and a significant step toward self-sustained prosperity.
